Prem Kumar, 40, is a teacher. He tutors the neighbourhood kids in English and Hindi. Contracting polio in both his legs and losing one arm, has not deterred his indomitable spirit. Kumar continued using a tri-rickshaw to go to the school, while his students helped him steer it, until the day he came across Wheels for Life.
The new wheelchair has not just given him freedom of movement but also a sense of autonomy and courage to go about his life on his own terms.
